Silk naturally resists bacteria and wicks away moisture, so it doesn’t require frequent washing like synthetic fabrics do. That doesn’t mean you should avoid cleaning your silk pieces altogether, but you’ll likely find they stay fresh longer than expected. Instead of washing after every wear, try spot-cleaning when needed and letting them air out. Thanks to silk’s breathable, natural properties, this gentle care approach helps extend the time between washes — and it’s a much more sustainable option for the planet too.
We recommend always hand washing in cool water – this will preserve the life of the garment and the saturation of its color. Always use a specialist silk detergent.
We suggest no higher than 30°. Avoid soaking silk for too long, as this can reduce its natural sheen. Do not rub the fabric—immerse it briefly and handle it gently.
Even if there are stains, do not use bleach. If something gets on the fabric, gently rub it with your hand and rinse it off with water immediately.
Hang your silks to air dry and never put any of in the tumble dryer. Iron or steam to restore lustre and sheen to the silk. Use your iron’s delicate or lowest heat setting.
